The Grade 10 girls' basketball team defeated Sentinel on Monday to push their record to 5-0 in Division 1 league play. The Cavs have a very small roster but there is definite talent on the squad. Here is Coach Mulock's game report:

The Junior Girls Basketball team closed out their regular season games with a big win against the Sentinel Spartans. The girls played as a team and looked to transition for fast break opportunities and moved the ball extremely well on offense. The girls have performed well throughout the season and with each game they have improved individually and as a team.

Kiera McCord was a huge threat on the offensive boards and has been throughout the season. She was our leading scorer with 21 points. Dorreh Assadi and Bronwyn Bird were aggressive on the offensive end looking to attack each possession and were sent to the free throw line putting the other team in foul trouble. Gabriela Villamil was composed as she brought the ball up and was a leader on the floor looking to push the ball with pace. Julia Rastad battled through injury and went coast to coast on multiple plays during the game beating their team down the floor and finishing with a strong lay-up. Emilie Haniak has shown the most improvement throughout the season and has worked hard on her post game and was a force to be reckoned with in the Sentinel game. Coming off the bench for the Cavaliers Lilah Sawers and Nicole McLean played solid minutes and worked hard on both offense and defense.

The coaching staff has high hopes for this team as they end with a 5-0 record in regular season and head into playoffs next week. The final score of the game was 46 – 28.

The Grade 10 girls' basketball team has reason to smile as they are undefeated in North Shore Division 1 play.
