David Thompson came to explore the North Shore this afternoon but the mountain air was not to their liking as Collingwood's senior boys' basketball team sent them back to the fog of Vancouver with their compasses askew. Here is Coach Wong's report on two big wins this week:

The Cavs have found their stride, and two weeks into the season, they are making some noise around BC. With and 8-1 record, the #8 team in AA should be on an upswing when the new rankings come out after earning top wins this week over St. Patrick's 78-59 (#4 AA), Port Moody 59-39, and David Thompson (78-50).

Collingwood opened up the No Regrets Tournament with their annual White Out. In quick fashion, the Cavs up-tempo defense took charge as they jumped out to an impressive 11-0 lead. Lochlan Collins scored 8 of his 14 in the first quarter. Tyler Preston was menace on both ends of the court, finishing with a game high 7 steals.

David Thompson's sharp-shooting caught fire in the second quarter, narrowing the Cavs lead to 6. A resurgent Cavs team, sparked by Player of the Game Brodie Jacobs, who quickly took control in the second half. Jacobs had 13 of his game high 25 in the third quarter. His three pointer followed by a lay-up in transition was the turning point of the game.

The umbrella fan-club saw the Cavs finish with 9 three-pointers. With the win, the Cavs now face Seycove (AA HM) who defeated Argyle (#7 AAA) 76-73 in the quarter finals. Game time is set for 7:30pm at McCord Court. The team will have their hands full with 4th year senior Christopher Ross.

Brodie Jacobs erupted for 13 points in the 3rd quarter to lead the Cavs to a win today.
