The senior volleyball team spent the past weekend in Seattle. This terrific initiative was put together by Coaches Morris, Lee and Garib. By all accounts, it was a fantastic trip. Here is a report from Coach Morris:
The Senior Volleyball Team is on a high after a wonderful weekend down in Washington.
Playing volleyball against both the Lindbergh Junior Varsity and Varsity teams was an exciting experience. Our team was small in numbers but played some of the best volleyball as a team so far this season! Casey was on Fire in the middle! Barbara, the libero, served up some incredible aces! Maddie, one of our captains, controlled the court and kept the opposition guessing by throwing out some incredible sets! Daisy served hard, set and hit with great passion! Avin played great defense and brought her consistent tricky serves.
Elle, our photographer extraordinaire, played smart with some impressive roll shots and passing! Hazel played aggressively and had her impressive jump serves and kills! And Kate putting on a passing clinic and showed smart placement on all of her kills!
Some other highlights of the trip were: watching the University of Seattle practice, passing, passing, passing. Watching them play the next day against the University of New Mexico, WOW! Eagle Bait! Watching Lindbergh's Homecoming football game. Meeting new friends from the Lindbergh Volleyball team. '5 in 5' and the team presentations'. Interesting DJ's and the music choices on the bus. 'G' the navigator extraordinaire. Milkshakes at Lunch Box Laboratory. Pike Place Market. Overall there were lots of experiences, smiles, laughter and memories!
The Cavs celebrate after winning a point.
One of the trip highlights was the team's visit to the University of Washington. The girls had a great time wandering the Huskies' amazing campus.
No trip to Seattle is complete without a trip to Pike Place Market.
