Sutherland Impressive At Sundodger Meet
Austin Sutherland has been Collingwood's top male long-distance runner for the past two years. As he enters his Grade 12 year, both the cross-country and the track coaches have high hopes for him. Here is a report from Coach Kate Ayotte:
Austin Sutherland represented Collingwood at the Sundodger Invitational cross-country meet in Seattle, Washington on Saturday, September 17th and placed an impressive 23rd out of 63 runners. The other competitors, with the exception of one Handsworth student, were high-level American runners. Austin ran 5 km in a time of 16:28 seconds. The coaches are hopeful of Austin leading a strong senior boys team to the Provincials this year in November.
