The cross-country team's top runners headed across town yesterday to picturesque Jericho Park for the Vancouver Sea To Sky Zone Championships.  With all the top runners from across Vancouver and the North Shore in attendance, it was quite the event.  Here is Coach Pool's report:

Under a mix of sun and clouds and perfect running conditions our 4 toughest Cavs prepared for the Lower Mainland Zone Championships. Noah, Severin, Elise and Adam represented Collingwood and had a great day of racing. Injuries and other sports commitments kept our other XC Cavs from participating in this race.

Elise picked up from where she left off last year and finished 29th out of 219 runners, and has likely secured another spot at the Provincial Championships. This multi-sport athlete continues to tear up the X-Country circuit and still has one year left as a Junior.

Severin finished in the middle of the pack in a very strong Senior Girls Division where several runners have been signed to Division 1 NCAA schools.

Adam continued to perform consistently this year and finished in the top third of his division with a blistering 4:12/km pace, just shy of a trip to Provincials.

Noah in his final X-Country race, set a personal best over 5km. Noah has been a great leader on our team and will be missed next year!

As the season wraps up we’re already looking ahead to next fall and welcome all new athletes to join us!

Elise seems to be on her way to her second-straight BC Championships Meet.

Severin takes on the relatively flat but challenging course at Jericho.

Noah's leadership will be missed next year.

Adam continues to impress his coaches and will be an even bigger threat next year when he will be in his second year in the junior division.
