The golf team travelled to the Sunshine Coast yesterday and came away with a 4-3 win over Windsor. Coach Jake Francis fielded a whole new line-up as he is keen to give as many golfers as possible some experience in these early North Shore league matches. Here is Coach Francis' report:
Collingwood took a group of up and coming golfers to their match vs. Windsor this week at Blue Ocean Golf Club on the Sunshine Coast. We were represented by Zach Bosa and Rhys Young in Grade 10 with Samuel Layden and Kion Hafeziin Grade 8.
Conditions were fair with no precipitation but plenty of mud from the last week of rain and cold weather. This proved for challenging shots whether in the fairway or rough, yet our team maintained good spirits and commitment to working through these conditions.
Low score of the day went to Kion Hafezi with a 95, who rallied on the back nine to shoot a 43 after the turn.
