The Grade 10 girls' basketball team has kicked off the new year with a big win over Bodwell on Tuesday evening. Here is Coach Fraser's report:
Our Junior girls played Bodwell tonight in a marquee coaching matchup with our Coach Burnett facing his father who was coaching Bodwell. Alas, youth won out over wisdom.
We played our bench for the majority of the game and they ran a controlled pass and cut offence with a lock down defence to beat Bodwell 57 to 20.
Monique Kelly had 12 points and 5 rebounds, Amy Uehara ran the offence and had 9 points and 5 assists, Halle Anderson had 9 points and 3 steals, Heather Royle and Sahel Etemadahari dominated the paint pulling in 5 rebounds each and kicking it back out for 3 assists each. Tiffany Wu and Amelia Parry played the point well head-manning the ball and scoring 6 points each.
Monique Kelly scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds in the win over Bodwell.
