The senior field hockey team defeated York House 3-1 this morning to win their pool and then dispatched South Kamloops 6-0 in their BC AA quarter-final this afternoon. This means that Collingwood plays tomorrow at 9:45 in a semi-final match against either JL Crowe or Seycove.

In the morning match, the Cavs took charge early when Hailey Gayda tipped in a shot from Liz McMullin. Liz Mathisen then scored off a short-corner to make it 2-0. Collingwood's third goal came off another Hailey tip. This time off a shot from Bronwyn Bird. York House scored just before halftime, but that was as close as they got as the second half had no scoring.

In the South Kamloops game, the Cavs once again struck quickly. Hailey added her third goal of the day to start things off. Kaiden Stanley then popped one in off a goalmouth scramble. Rachel Graham opened the second half in style with a terrific reverse-sweep goal. Hailey then tipped in a Jamie Borthwick shot. Maddie Augustus followed this up with a fine tip of her own when Olivia Huebner spotted her a the side of the goal. It was a terrific pass by Olivia who was just called up on Tuesday night. Lilah Sawers scored the final goal for the Cavs.

Collingwood will be seeking their fourth straight trip to the finals when they tip off tomorrow morning.

Devon Litherland has been playing fantastic hockey for the Cavs all year long. She has been terrific in the first four games of the BC Championships.
