The senior field hockey team defeated Little Flower Academy and Oak Bay yesterday to earn a spot in the Bridgman Cup semi-finals. This is a terrific accomplishment considering the depth of teams in this tournament.

In the morning game, the Cavs faced LFA. Lilah Sawers opened the scoring when she converted a great cross. Collingwood took a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Cavs second goal was a true beauty. Bronwyn Bird poked the ball away from a LFA player just outside the Collingwood D and then released a pass that started a counterattack. Mere seconds later, Hailey Gayda had put it into the net and the Cavs were the winners of their pool.

In the quarter-final, the Cavs faced AAA and local favourite Oak Bay. Oak Bay put concerted pressure on the Cavs throughout the first half. However, all their shots were thwarted by Izzy Fry who was calm and composed in the Collingwood net. Izzy had a great game. With six minutes left in the game, Bronwyn cleverly dribbled past multiple Oak Bay players and the Kaiden Stanley hammered the ball into the net for the games' only goal.

Bronwyn Bird was her usual brilliant self yesterday.
