There will be tryouts for the Gr. 6/7 CAIS Boys Basketball team during the week of Oct. 30 - Nov. 3. If your son wishes to try out for this team, please click on both the grade team and CAIS tryouts. A meeting for students interested will be held prior the first tryout. It is important to note:
For the 2017-18 School year, the athletics program at Wentworth will be adopting a new philosophy towards the CAIS basketball selection process. The CAIS teams will be seen as an extension for both sports from the grade teams.
Players will participate with their grade teams in the local ISEA leagues. This means that all grade 6s will play basketball on the grade 6 team in ISEA league play and the same will apply to the grade 7s. The CAIS basketball team will play in local tournaments such as the Cav Classic and Dragon classic along with the CAIS National tournament from Jan. 31 to Feb 3rd.
Practice times are subject to change due to gym availability. The complete schedule will be posted on the Wentworth Athletics Website at http://www.collingwood.org/athletics/wentworth (please check weekly) during mid October.
