The Grade 8 girls' basketball team steamrolled the Carson Gram Eagles 42-16 yesterday to win their North Shore quarter-final. Although the Cavs started slow, they were able to eventually overwhelm Carson through their superior teamwork and skill. Here is Coach Morris' game report:
What a great start to the playoff season! All the hard work and dedication to early morning and after-school practices has really paid off. Tuesday's game against the Carson Graham Eagles was a game of patience and passing. The girls had almost perfect chemistry on the court with their passing, movement and teamwork.
A couple highlights of the game were Stella's patience with the ball and work on the boards. Sara played strong while driving to the hoop and was very disciplined on defence. Heather was a rebounding machine and Rachael played tough defence and ran the floor well. The girls are looking forward to their next game on Thursday against the STA Saints at 4pm at Collingwood.
