The senior boys' soccer team will take to the field at 8:45am on Friday to open the 2016-17 sports season. The Cavs will be out to defend the ISA Championship they won last year. Right away they will face a formidable foe as they play perennial powerhouse Glen-Lyon Norfolk in Game 1.

Collingwood is fielding a very young team, but new Headmaster/Coach Rob Lake has been pushing the squad hard. The team may lack experience but they promise to be a hard-working crew who will look to apply constant pressure to the opposition.

Taking the field right after the soccer boys will be the senior girls' field hockey team who are tip off their Polar Bear Cup game at 9:30am. The field hockey squad is coming off one of their best years ever. In 2015, the team won the ISA Championship, UBC Championship, North Shore AA Championship and the AA BC Championship.

This year's squad features 14 returning players and is absolutely brimming with talent. Coaches Gold, Underwood and Bruner can hardly contain their glee that they have such an amazing group of young women to work with again this year.

Coach Lake will be looking to Nick Somers to provide leadership and a deft scoring touch this season.

With 14 players back from last year, the field hockey team has high hopes of being #1 again this year.
