After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the golf team has no remaining veterans on it. Thus, every new match brings a new challenge for our young team. One such challenge was the ISA Tournament that was held last weekend. Here is Coach Bruner's report:
The Collingwood senior golf team were extremely excited to play in their first tournament since 2019, the annual ISA championship hosted by Shawinigan Lake School. The tournament was held at Arbutus Ridge in Cowichan Bay, a beautiful and yet hilly golf course that provided many challenges for our young golf team.
The tournament was held over two days, playing 18 holes during each of their rounds. Grace Yao was our top golfer scoring a 75 and a 79 in her two rounds. Aiden Snyman came in with scoring 85 on each round. Sunny Sun, Kion Hafezi and Luke Pilkington had many shining moments including birdies, long drives and stellar approaches all the while learning many lessons that can used towards the final stretch of our season.
The golf team is in great shape for this year and years to come, as the potential of this team is vast. The team should be commended for their focus and willingness to learn, as golf is a process surrounded by supportive team. As coaches, we are proud of your efforts to date.
