While many students across Canada last year had no high school sports at all, Collingwood students were able to participate in a robust Athletics program. Our coaches worked hard to maximize fun since there were no games. However, we all know that athletes want to compete and happily this year our teams will once again be taking the field against the best teams from the North Shore and across the province.
At this moment, BC School Sports has put no restrictions on games or travel so North Shore league play will start as early as September 20th in some sports. The Independent Schools Association (ISA) is also planning to run its full slate of fall tournaments. This is great news for all our student-athletes.
Parents need to be aware that there may be restrictions when it comes to spectators. At the current moment, it is up to the individual school to decide whether or not they will welcome fans onto their campus. Thus, while most outdoor fall sports will have fans, there may be limits at some volleyball games. If this is the case, our volleyball coaches will be sure to let parents know well in advance.
All sports schedules are now up on the Collingwood website. Please check there for practice times
