These are obviously interesting times.  Sport Writers across the world have literally nothing to write about.  Clearly, this is also true for a certain Collingwood Athletic Director who is used to bragging about the student-athletes he loves to cheer on every week.

However, we're not going to let a lack of games stop this sports blog.  We're going to continue to profile Collingwood's top student-athletes.  We're starting with Grade 12's who by all rights should be starring in Term 3 sports right now.  Please enjoy learning more about these amazing young men and women:

DORREH ASSADI

SPORTS PLAYED AT COLLINGWOOD:

Volleyball, Basketball, (Was planning on playing Cricket and Netball in third term)

FAVOURITE COLLINGWOOD SPORTS MOMENT(S):

1. During my Grade 12 basketball season we had to play Mulgrave four times, each game more important than the last. We won all four times!

2. On our Seniors’ Night, we won against Norte Dame in a buzzer beater. I won’t forget that game ever. (Editor’s Note – It was a truly amazing come-from-behind victory!)

3. The ‘No Regrets Tournament’ White Out is for sure one of my favourite events of the school year. Even though the girls didn’t play in it this year, the energy the school brought to the guys' game was amazing!

FAVOURITE COLLINGWOOD SPORTS MOMENT(S):

‘The Brit Tournament’ in Saskatoon: Being a part of the biggest tournament in Western Canada alongside the most tight-knit team and coaches in -20 degree weather is an unforgettable experience even if you tried to.

“No Regrets Tournament’: Coming out and playing a home game in front of the entire school against a team from another province was the most energetic game I’ve ever been a part of.

My first rugby game: First ever game for Collingwood against a top team in the province. I’ll never forget the adrenaline and excitement of taking the rugby field.
