The Grade 8 girls' basketball team has had a very successful season so far.  They won the Archbishop Carney tournament in mid-January, finished 2nd in the Cap University tournament in December and posted an impressive 5-1 record in North Shore league play.  Yesterday afternoon, they romped through their North Shore quarterfinal with an easy 57-18 win over Carson Graham.

The Cavs will now face a tough Argyle team in their North Shore semi-final tomorrow.  The Pipers beat Collingwood in the Cap U tournament but the Cavs returned the favour in league play.  Thus, it promises to be a terrific battle.

This year's team has tremendous depth, which has allowed Coach Lee to use multiple line-ups that have all been highly effective.  This should be an enormous help in the upcoming games where bench strength can be so important.

Reese Tam drives on a breakaway lay-up in yesterday's win over Carson.

Ally Lawlor has been a force underneath the basket for Coach Lee.

Lucy Xu has the size to be a dominant post player but is so skillful that she has also played point guard at times for the Cavs this year.

Allison Hargreaves drives for a basket in Collingwood's 57-18 win.

Sophie Bell takes it to the hoop in the first half yesterday.

Severin Jackson shoots in the win over the Eagles in the North Shore quarterfinal.
