The Grade 8 girls' basketball team has had a very successful season so far. They won the Archbishop Carney tournament in mid-January, finished 2nd in the Cap University tournament in December and posted an impressive 5-1 record in North Shore league play. Yesterday afternoon, they romped through their North Shore quarterfinal with an easy 57-18 win over Carson Graham.
The Cavs will now face a tough Argyle team in their North Shore semi-final tomorrow. The Pipers beat Collingwood in the Cap U tournament but the Cavs returned the favour in league play. Thus, it promises to be a terrific battle.
This year's team has tremendous depth, which has allowed Coach Lee to use multiple line-ups that have all been highly effective. This should be an enormous help in the upcoming games where bench strength can be so important.
