Collingwood's cross-country team has competed throughout the season in a series of North Shore meets. In years past, the season would be capped off by the Howe Sound Zone Meet. However, due to BC School Sports re-alignment, the season now features the Vancouver Sea To Sky Zone Championship. Thus, the runners headed off to Jericho Park last Tuesday for this new competition. Here is the report from Coach Pool:

The Cross Country season capped off with the Regional Zones meet last Tuesday. Collingwood was well represented and our young team represented the school well. Every runner achieved a personal best and had their best overall result of the season.

Our two senior runners, Zaref Anderson and Lochlan Collins, capped off their Collingwood running careers with great results. Zaref had a personal best time for 5kms while Lochlan had the race of his life and qualified for Provincials. We're sad to see these athletes go, but congratulate them on their great season.

We are pleased with the momentum we built this year and are looking forward to continuing that next season!

Zaref Anderson competed for Collingwood in cross-country in all five years of high school.

Lochlan Collins should be in awesome shape for basketball season. In his debut year on the cross-country team, he was fast enough to qualify for the BC Championships.

Jake DeLuise looking strong in Tuesday's meet.

Grace Virani on her way to a personal best.

Alex Yu also recorded a personal best at the zone championships.
