The senior field hockey team took to the field for the first time this year this past weekend at the Polar Bear Tournament. The Cavs were back on the Crofton House pitch where they were crowned BC AA Champions last November. Judging from the results this weekend, the Cavs will be very hard to beat again this year.
Collingwood defeated Kelowna 6-0, Little Flower Academy 4-0, Crofton House 1-0 and York House 5-0. Their only loss would come to defending provincial AAA champion Handsworth.
The coaches would like to give a "huge shout-out to Mo Kelly who was phenomenal in net and stepped up huge during the shootouts and to our four new field players who have definitely enriched our squad".
Collingwood's first league game is this Wednesday against West Van.
The 2019-20 Cavs are looking like one of the best teams at any level in BC field hockey this year.
