For the second time in six days and the third time this year, the senior rugby team defeated Rockridge. The two West Van rivals renewed their fierce rivalry in the BC AA semi-final yesterday in Abbotsford. The Cavs quickly took charge with two early tries and then extended this to a 34-0 lead part way through the second half. Rockridge scored two late tries of their own, but it was another emphatic victory for Collingwood.
Lucas Beaupre scored the Cavs first try after some great work from the Collingwood forwards presented the backs with a tidy overlap. Lucas Okano followed this up when he dummied and then split the Rockridge defence right up the middle. Kirk Fuller then barrelled over to make 19-0 at half.
Nathan Holm and Harry Philpotts added second-half tries. Graeme Neill kicked three conversions and added one penalty kick.
The Cavs now play St. Michaels University School in the final tomorrow at 4:15.
